Product Description

Lighter, longer, faster, and stronger, the Callaway Octane Driver delivers more power and more distance on your golf course. A Forged Composite construction that is less dense than titanium, yet features a greater load carrying capacity per unit mass in bending, the Callaway Octane Driver boasts superior distribution of clubhead mass with 10 million carbon fibers that reinforce a third of the clubhead. As a result the Callaway Octane has a lighter clubhead that retains an extremely high moment of inertia (MOI). The lighter weight and longer shaft generates a faster clubhead and ball speeds off the club–adding an average of 8 extra yards off the tee compared to the Diablo Edge Driver. In addition, the Face Technology improves impact efficiency across the clubface, giving a larger sweet spot that generates more ball speed even on duffs. Equipped with the Project X Graphite Shaft that helps the driver’s performance and provides great feel, the Callaway Octane Driver is the new leader down the fairway.

Forged Composite Construction:

Is from a unique partnership between the R&D teams of Callaway Golf and car maker Lamborghini, the Callaway Octane Driver is powered by a completely new Forged Composite material that is one-third the density of titanium, yet as a better load carrying capacity per unit mass in bending. The Callaway Octane crown contains 10 million carbon fibers, set with six tons of force during the forging process to reinforce the clubhead. These ultra-light, thin-walled components result in lower total head weight and mass properties that make the Callaway Octane Driver lighter, faster, and stronger. The lighter clubhead still has an extremely high MOI and allows for a longer shaft that generates faster head and ball speeds for an average 8 extra yards over Diablo Edge Driver.

Lets be honest, when it comes to using woods, particularly the driver, all we want to do is hit the ball down the middle for miles.  As a general rule the higher the loft the easier it is to hit straight,  so at least 10 degrees of loft – unless you are a low single figure golfer.  The new style of large head size prevents the head from twisting when striking the ball on off centre hits.  The shaft is the engine of the club,  as a rule of thumb, a regular shaft will increase distance, a stiffer shaft will increase accuracy.  The original square headed Callaway Wood was designed to be the worlds straightest driver, the fusion technology moving weight away from the centre of gravity, increasing vertical and horizontal stability.  This has proved a popular tour winner.  A feature over the years is to only introduce new woods when there is a genuine improvement to the existing product line.  As aworld leading company they devote their time to creating and maintaining the best research, design, testing and manufacturing standards to the products we use.
